On December 15, Nature’s Window welcomed Chelan Middle School for a field trip with 90 students and four teachers. Students took on a global scavenger hunt and completed a companion assignment as part of their museum adventure.
To keep everyone engaged, the group rotated through two experiences. While half the students explored the animal dioramas and exhibits, the other half attended a video lecture on wildlife conservation by Shane Mahoney—noted wildlife scientist, President of Conservation Visions, and Deputy Chair of the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Sustainable Use and Livelihoods Specialist Group. His presentation highlighted the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation and why it continues to matter for conservation today.
It was a lively afternoon of discovery, learning, and conservation-focused conversation—thank you to Chelan Middle School for visiting!
